Files... 07/08

All the files [below] have been taken off the Web server to save space.  If you did not get a change to pull it off, and save it, let me know, and I'll get it to you!

Final Projects...

I am trying to upload all the individual projects today! I am so impressed with the quality, and effort put forth!

There should also be a DVD with their report cards that are available on Friday that has ALL of the projects!

Projects are coming together!

With the end of the year here, and just 8 full days left, the final PUSH on these projects is here!

Most students by now have completed:
  • Title page
  • Taken digital photos on a field trip, or other trip
  • Placed photos along with text into PowerPoint
  • Most kids have exported their slides into JPEG files (for easy import into Photo Story)
  • Some kids have organized their JPEGs in PhotoStory
  • Just a few students have narrated their stories/research
  • Everyone still needs to tweak timing and transitions
  • Everyone still needs to "publish" their projects by exporting to a Media Player format

Field Trip - 5/2

We will be taking a bus, free of charge, to the Hammock and Downtown areas. This will help about 90% of the students. Most permission slips are already turned in.

* Students should wear comfortable OUTDOORS clothes
* Hats or sun screen are OK (outside)
* Digital cameras are OK to bring (I can help kids download them that afternoon, or you can at home and burn a CD or place onto a flash drive)

Thanks!!

Task 1 - Create your cover

Your first task is to design the cover for your project. There are several ways for you to complete this task, so use the method that will work best for your final product. For example, you would not want to make a 3-demensional poster if your final product is going to be a PowerPoint presentation. If you want to draw, make a collage, or something else creative for your cover, we will welcome that…however, keep in mind we can only scan items as large as a piece of copy paper.

As you begin, you will want to really think about what should be on your cover. Much like an author of a book, you’ll want to choose something that represents your topic well, but also focuses on the main topic, which is Sebring. Think to yourself all the major activities that take place in Sebring, that may help you get a better idea of what to create—but also include something that you may enjoy. For example, a student may enjoy golfing, and since this is such a major golfing community, they might have a golf focus, even if the main focus of their research project is about the Hammock State Park.

Here are the required written elements:
  • Title/subject
  • Your name
  • Name of our school
  • The date: “Spring 2008”
  • 4th Grade H.A.A.R.T.

You may consider something like this (but of course with fancy pictures):
